Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT IS THE DAILY TIMETABLE?
Students are expected to be at school by 8:30am, ready for homegroup at 8:45am.
School ends at 3:20pm except on Thursday, when the final siren is at 3:00pm.
For all other times, please see the link below for our daily timetable.
DOES THE SCHOOL HAVE A BUS SERVICE?
The school does not run its own personal bus service, however Torrens Transit and Adelaide Metro provide a bus to and from the school. This bus also stops at the Tea Tree Plaza Interchange, before stopping at the school.
Parents who wish for their child to travel to school by bus are advised to visit the Adelaide Metro website to find the most convenient stop for the child to catch the bus.
For those who are required to stop at the Interchange through the use of other public buses and arrive too early or too late for the school bus. The school is approximately a 10-15 minute walk and there are many paths and shortcuts available should you wish to follow them. The most common is along Smart Road and turning down Australia Avenue to the back of the school.
WHY DID I RECEIVE AN SMS?
Modbury High School uses SMS messaging to notify parents for a number of reasons.
Messages are sent out at approximately 11.15am to notify parents that their student/s are either:
- Away for the day unexplained
- Has arrived late, but did not have a note stating the reason when they signed in
- Has arrived late without signing in (same as a full day absence)
Messages are sent to parents to notify that their student has received and must complete a Lunchtime Detention or an After School Detention. This is just a notification and the reason for receiving the detention, will be brought home with your student at the end of the day.
Messages are sent to all parents of the school community or of certain year levels, as a reminder for upcoming events / meetings to be held at the school or in the case of an emergency. These may include:
- Parent / Teacher Interviews
- Student Free Days
- Information Nights
