Year 10 German C+
Stage 1 German is a full year course (20-credits) which builds on language skills and knowledge gained in the junior school. Students are encouraged to develop their speaking and listening skills in order to reduce the amount of English spoken in class. Students will build up their ability to write extended texts up to 200 words.
Stage 1 German at continuers level consists of three themes and a number of prescribed topics and subtopics. These may be negotiated with students and could include advertising, the environment, nutrition or travel.

Assessment at Stage 1 is school based. Students demonstrate evidence of their learning through the following assessment types:
- Text Production
- Text Analysis
Students who successfully complete a full year of German may continue on to German at Stage 2.
Students are able to take part in an annual 6 week German Exchange commencing at the end of November, returning in early January of the following year.
Students who study a language in year 12 are eligible to receive two extra points towards their ATAR.
