Prerequisites:

Students are placed into classes based on their abiity and performance in the previous year. The different levels of abilities are Advanced, General and Essential. Students can move between levels based on their achievement.

All classes are following the Australian Curriculum which consist of the following topics.

  • Non-Linear Relationships
  • Linear Relationships
  • Trigonometry
  • Geometry
  • Probability
  • Financial Mathematics

Assessment:

There is an exam for each class towards the end of terms 2 and 4.

Special requirements:

All students are required to have a graphics calculator from the beginning of Year 10 CASIO CG20AU. This is a compulsory requirement of the subject.

Further information

Students in Advanced 1 or 2 classes intending to study Year 11 Mathematics 1, 2, 3 and/or 4 will also need to choose the Extension Mathematics at Year 10.
