Full Year of Stage 1 Music
Music Individual Study is a subject that allows students to undertake an individually negotiated topic in an area of interest that is not covered in any other Stage 2 Music subject. Students pursue an area of interest that is directly applicable to their intended vocation, career, further study, or recreation. Students develop skills in documenting the processes of negotiating, planning, structuring, developing, and evaluating their learning.
Music Individual Study is recommended for students who have a great deal of personal motivation and initiative, and who are self-directed learners. The ability to work independently is essential.
Students undertake an individual study on a topic of their choice. This may be an area in which they are interested or in which they have special talent. The topic should be realistically achievable by the student, and appropriate resources should be available.
