A 10-credit subject in which students research a topic based on an area of interest. The research topic may be linked to an existing SACE subject or course or to a workplace or community context. Students learn how to use research processes and to apply knowledge and skills specific to their research topic. They keep a record of their research and evaluate what they have learnt, including their insights and ideas.
Evidence of learning is demonstrated through the following assessment types:
Research Project B
- Contributes to the ATAR
- Evaluation for external assessment must be in written form of 1500 words maximum.
School based assessment
- Preliminary ideas and research proposal
- Research Development
Research Outcome (40%)
- Students synthesise their key findings (knowledge, skills and ideas) to produce a research outcome.
- including a written summary.
Research Project is a compulsory subject. Students must achieve a Cgrade or better to complete the subject successfully and gain thier SACE.
