If your child is currently in Year 6 and wishes to attend Modbury High School in Year 7, please view the information below.
Additional information about the registration of interest process for Year 6 students can be obtained from your child's government primary school.
Every year there is a statewide transition process for students attending public secondary schools. This transition process for families starts in term 2. Parents and caregivers with students in years 6 will receive communication with a unique URL to access the online registration of interest form.
Year 6 students at non-government schools who are in-zone and wish to apply for Modbury High School can get application information by emailing education.startingsecondaryschool@sa.gov.au
Registration of Interest is due via the online form or to primary schools by Friday 22 May 2026.
Families will be notified of their student’s allocated high school between Wednesday 5 August and Friday 7 August 2026.
Students who did not get allocated to Modbury High School but still wish to come here please email dl.0964.transition@schools.sa.edu.au

Placements are allocated to in-zone students first. We do have some flexibility to accept out-of-zone enrolments, so we encourage you to still register your interest. If you would like support with registering your interest for an out-of-zone enrolment through the statewide process, please reach out to Rob Yeend, Assistant Principal – Transition and Learning Environment.
If you are unsure of your allocated school zone, please see the DfE Zoning page here.
Students who have siblings currently attending Modbury High School or have left within the last 12 months are eligible for a placement.
Students who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander can apply to attend the SA government high school of their choice via the Enter for Success program. Further information can be found via this link.
